Ted – Movie Review

Comedy lovers have you got a treat to go see, unless you’ve already watched Ted.

Ted comes from Seth MacFarlane, the guy who gave us Family Guy, American Dad and The Cleveland Show. This is his directorial debut and my God is it funny as hell. The premise is simple, it’s about a boy who never had any friends, he gets a teddy bear for Christmas, he wishes for it to come real. Ted becomes real and they’ve been friends for life. 37 years later Ted smokes, drinks, parties. Mark Wahlberg is in a relationship with Mila Kunis and she wants him to be mature but he just wants both of them, ok I’m giving too much away now.

In the end, this movie is perfect because it balances out the bromance and romance and if you see this with your girlfriend or bro, then you’re going to have a good time because set aside the genre, this is basically a live action Family Guy movie. Seth MacFarlane’s type of comedy is all here, quick scene gags, over the top violence, making fun of celebrities, making fun of current events, swearing like crazy, drug usage, nudity.

Yes this is a movie NOT for the kids. I had a great time watching Ted. I say it’s like an episode of Family Guy because some of the writers and Seth wrote the story, the same style comedy is here, when a new scene is starting, we’re thrown into the scene with that classical jazzy music that Seth loves so much which I also do enjoy from time to time, a few of the voice actors from Family Guy have a role in the movie and it’s all narrated by Patrick Stewart, who has to be the next Morgan Freeman. This is very hilarious and out of the three comedies I’ve seen this year (I’ve seen 21 Jump Street, The Three Stooges and now Ted) Ted has to be in the running for number one! It is that funny.

If you love Family Guy, American Dad or Cleveland Show then you will love Ted because it’s like watching those cartoons on the big screen. I highly recommend you see this movie, as long as you’re cool with a little dirty humour.
